The 2026-27 Scottish Premiership runner-up market remains tightly bunched because Celtic are widely expected to claim the title, leaving a wide-open contest among Rangers, Hearts, Hibernian, Aberdeen, Motherwell and several others for second place. Early-season results after the July 31 kickoff have reinforced parity, with St Mirren and Motherwell posting strong starts alongside Celtic while Rangers adjust to Derek McInnes and key additions such as Lawrence Shankland. Hearts face a rebuild under Wouter Vrancken following major summer departures, and clubs like Hibernian and Aberdeen have bolstered squads amid European commitments that could influence domestic form. With limited games played and no dominant challenger yet emerging, trader consensus reflects broad uncertainty over which side will sustain the consistency needed to finish ahead of the pack.
