Borna Gojo enters as the slight ranking favorite at No. 137 against No. 165 Rei Sakamoto in the first round of the ATP Challenger Oeiras 3 on clay courts, marking their head-to-head debut. Gojo arrives in solid form off a straight-sets win over Juan Pablo Ficovich in the Morelia Challenger final last week, boasting a strong 10-5 clay record recently and deriving 29% of his ranking points from the surface. The 28-year-old Croat leverages experience against Sakamoto, a 19-year-old Japanese big-server with explosive upside but limited clay exposure (just 7% of points), fresh off a second-round exit to Luca Van Assche in Monza. No reported injuries or withdrawals shape trader consensus toward a competitive matchup on Portugal's outdoor clay, where rest advantages are minimal ahead of potential second-round clashes.
