Chennai Super Kings face a mounting injury crisis ahead of their IPL home opener at spin-friendly Chepauk against Punjab Kings, with MS Dhoni sidelined by a calf strain for two weeks, Dewald Brevis out with a side issue, Nathan Ellis ruled out for the season, and Spencer Johnson still rehabbing. CSK seek a turnaround after an opening loss to Rajasthan Royals, while PBKS carry momentum from a win over Gujarat Titans and welcome back captain Shreyas Iyer, cleared despite hand swelling. Pitch conditions favor spinners in the second innings, toss could prove pivotal amid hot Chennai weather and CSK's historical home edge now tested by roster gaps.
