Arjun Erigaisi finished second despite missing round one, while consistent performers like Magnus Carlsen, Alireza Firouzja, Hikaru Nakamura, and Jose Martinez have secured recent titles or podiums. Participation levels and any schedule adjustments remain key variables heading into the tournament.
