Jil Teichmann faces higher-ranked Petra Marcinko in the semifinals of the WTA Rabat clay-court event, where Marcinko enters as the stronger favorite based on current form and ranking. The Croatian has advanced with wins over Vera Zvonareva and second seed Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, showing resilience after dropping an early set in the tournament. Teichmann, ranked well below her opponent, has built momentum by defeating Alycia Parks and local qualifier Yasmine Kabbaj in straight sets or tight contests to reach her first semifinal since 2025. Their only prior meeting came on hard courts in 2023, when Marcinko won decisively, though neither player has extensive recent clay results to draw upon. Home-crowd support for the Swiss left-hander and the slower surface could extend rallies and test Marcinko's consistency in what shapes up as a competitive matchup with realistic upset potential.
