Alexander Zverev captured the 2026 US Open men's singles title, defeating Ben Shelton in the final to secure his second major of the year after the French Open. Traders priced Zverev at near-certainty due to his consistent form across the season, including multiple Grand Slam semifinal appearances, improved serve and baseline consistency on hard courts, and navigation of a challenging draw despite early five-set matches. Shelton's run as the home hope ended in four sets, while other top contenders like Carlos Alcaraz exited earlier. Casper Ruud's absence from the tournament amid back issues and inconsistent results further reinforced the outcome. Late injuries, weather delays, or an unexpected deep run by an unseeded player represent the primary variables that could have altered the result before resolution.
