The 2026-27 Süper Lig season opened on August 14 with 18 teams following the relegation of Antalyaspor, Kayserispor, and Fatih Karagümrük at the end of 2025-26. Three sides earned promotion—Erzurumspor after a five-year absence plus first-time entrants Amedspor and Çorum FK—creating immediate questions around adaptation to the top flight. After two matchweeks, promoted sides and several mid-table clubs sit in the lower positions, with Eyüpspor, Konyaspor, and Erzurumspor on zero points. Galatasaray leads the table, while the three-team relegation battle will intensify over a 34-match schedule ending in May 2027, influenced by squad depth, early momentum, and the typical challenges faced by newly promoted teams.
