Sal Stewart of the Cincinnati Reds holds a commanding edge in the 2026 RBI race, pacing the majors with 107 runs batted in through early September while posting 31 home runs and a .266/.338/.480 slash line. The 22-year-old first baseman has already shattered the franchise’s modern rookie RBI mark and stands as the first NL rookie to lead the league in this category deep into August or later. With roughly three weeks remaining, Stewart’s consistent production in the middle of the Reds lineup—supported by strong on-base skills and power—has widened his margin over pursuers such as Alec Burleson, Jordan Walker, and AL standouts including Pete Alonso and Yordan Alvarez. Trader consensus reflects the difficulty of closing a double-digit gap in the final stretch of the regular season.
