Melbourne’s hosting at the MCG creates near-even odds despite Fremantle’s 18-2 ladder lead and superior percentage. The Demons enter Round 22 on strong recent form after a nine-point win over Gold Coast, with key returns of Dan Turner and Kade Chandler bolstering their lineup. Fremantle, fresh from a dominant second-half surge against the Bulldogs, sees Brennan Cox return but faces the typical challenges of interstate travel and MCG conditions. Official injury reports and selection stability for both sides underscore a tightly contested matchup where home-ground advantage, recent momentum, and forward-line efficiency largely offset Fremantle’s season-long dominance, keeping implied probabilities balanced around 50 percent.
