Mercedes leads the 2026 Formula 1 Constructors' Championship with a commanding points advantage after the opening rounds, driven by a substantial edge in the new power unit regulations and chassis performance that rivals have yet to close. The Silver Arrows posted qualifying margins approaching eight-tenths of a second at the Australian Grand Prix and have maintained superior pace and reliability since, allowing drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli to accumulate results that separate them from Ferrari and McLaren. Those teams trail significantly in the standings despite competitive showings in select sessions, while Red Bull and others remain further adrift amid adaptation challenges to the revised technical rules. Trader consensus reflects this early-season dominance, with the gap unlikely to narrow quickly absent major regulatory interventions or reliability setbacks.
