Yeon Woo Ku enters the ITF Granby matchup as the clear favorite against Miho Kuramochi, driven primarily by a substantial ranking gap—Ku sits near No. 185 with a career high of 172 reached in June 2026, while Kuramochi holds around No. 400 after peaking at 326 earlier in the year. The 23-year-old South Korean has compiled stronger results on the ITF circuit and WTA level in recent months, including consistent progress that elevated her to top Korean player status. Kuramochi, a 28-year-old right-hander with two ITF titles, brings experience but has posted a middling 2026 win-loss record amid limited breakthroughs. On the hard courts typical for Granby, Ku’s superior recent form and athletic edge in rallies position her to control points, though Kuramochi’s two-handed backhand and veteran composure could create opportunities in longer exchanges if Ku’s consistency dips. No major injury or withdrawal reports have surfaced for either player ahead of the encounter.
