Meta's stock closed at $613.48 on September 8 amid continued focus on its advertising platform performance and AI investments. The primary near-term driver is the late-August settlement of major youth-related litigation for up to $18 billion, which analysts view as removing a significant overhang and enabling greater focus on product development. Core Family of Apps revenue grew 28% year-over-year in Q2 to $60.8 billion, supported by rising ad impressions, pricing, and 3.6 billion daily active users, while Meta AI enhancements and open models like Muse Spark drive engagement. Heavy 2026 capex guidance of $130–145 billion for AI infrastructure remains a key variable influencing sentiment, with no major catalysts expected on September 9 itself beyond broader market moves.
