Patrick Mahomes leads the market at 80.5% implied probability to start Week 1 for the Chiefs against the Broncos, reflecting his full participation and strong performance throughout training camp after tearing his left ACL and LCL in December 2025. He received clearance for OTAs and camp, hit every rehab checkpoint, and avoided preseason action by design while preparing for the Sept. 14 opener. The Chiefs traded for Justin Fields in March to serve as the primary backup given the injury timeline, though Fields sits at just 0.3% as the expected Week 1 starter. Chris Oladokun, who appeared in games late last season, was waived with an injury designation in late August and holds minimal odds at 0.8%, while Gardner Minshew and other depth options remain long shots amid a settled quarterback room behind the franchise signal-caller.

If the Chiefs do not name a single player as the starting quarterback, the market will resolve based on the player who takes the most snaps at quarterback during their first offensive drive of the game. If multiple players take the same number of snaps on the Chiefs’ first offensive drive, the market will resolve to the player who took the first snap at quarterback.
This market may not resolve before the start of the Chiefs’ Week 1 regular season game.
The resolution sources for this market will be official information from the NFL (NFL.com); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
