Kirk Cousins holds a dominant position as the Raiders' expected Week 1 starter against the Dolphins due to his veteran experience, scheme familiarity with head coach Klint Kubiak from their prior Vikings tenure, and consistent first-team reps throughout training camp and the preseason. The four-time Pro Bowler outperformed rookie first-overall pick Fernando Mendoza in limited exhibition action, completing a high percentage of passes while leading scoring drives, whereas Mendoza posted an interception and sacks amid growing pains. Kubiak has kept the decision unofficial but repeatedly signaled that the job remains Cousins' to lose, citing the need for additional development time for the Heisman winner and other rookies. Aidan O'Connell sits far behind on the depth chart. A late injury to Cousins remains the primary realistic path for a shift before the opener.

In the event two listed quarterbacks take the field on the first offensive play of the Las Vegas Raiders’ Week 1 game, this market will resolve in favor of the player directly receiving the snap. If neither listed quarterback directly receives the snap, this market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically.
If Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or no official starter has taken the field within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL and/or the Las Vegas Raiders; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
