Coinbase Global (COIN) shares closed at $146.26 on July 31 after plunging more than 10% on the July 30 release of Q2 2026 results, which showed an earnings miss, an 18.5% year-over-year revenue decline, and softer crypto trading volumes despite record 10.3% market share. Analysts responded by lowering price targets across the board, reflecting near-term pressure on transaction revenue tied to Bitcoin and Ethereum price levels and overall risk appetite. The stock has traded well below its 2025 peak near $445 amid a broader crypto pullback. With Q3 earnings not due until late October, near-term sentiment hinges on crypto market volumes, any Federal Reserve signals affecting risk assets, and progress on regulatory clarity such as the CLARITY Act.
