Chelsea’s established squad depth, experience under Sonia Bompastor, and historical edge over Manchester United underpin their 57.5% implied probability in this WSL Week 2 clash on September 13. The Blues enter the new campaign after finishing third in 2025-26 and adding versatile forward Melvine Malard from United, while addressing prior injury issues. Manchester United, by contrast, begin a rebuild under new manager Eva Olid following Marc Skinner’s departure, key summer exits, and a 1-2 opening loss to London City Lionesses. Limited transfer investment and the absence of European football give United more preparation time but leave them as underdogs against Chelsea’s proven attacking options and defensive organization. Recent head-to-head results, including cup final defeats, further support trader consensus favoring the visitors.
