Sandra Samir enters this W15 Hurghada second-round clash as the clear favorite against Wilva Chan, backed by her WTA ranking near 390 and strong recent form on the hard courts in Egypt. The 28-year-old Egyptian has secured multiple straight-set victories in the Hurghada series this month, including dominant wins over lower-ranked opponents, while leveraging home-country support and consistent match play. Chan, an Australian with an ITF ranking well outside the top 1,500 and limited professional experience, faces a steep challenge in her first notable matchup against a higher-level pro. No prior head-to-head exists, but Samir’s superior baseline game, movement, and recent results on this surface position her to control rallies and minimize errors in what projects as a straightforward test of experience versus raw potential.
