Yankees and Cubs hold the clearest edges in the MLB team home run race, with trader pricing reflecting their sustained power output and favorable remaining schedules. The Cubs posted one of the strongest monthly totals in recent history during August, fueled by contributions from Alex Bregman, Pete Crow-Armstrong, and others, while the Yankees maintain consistent production from their core lineup. Both clubs sit well ahead of the pack in cumulative totals, though late-season variables such as rest, matchups, and bullpen usage could still influence final counts. Lower-priced contenders like the Nationals, Reds, and Astros trail significantly and would need outlier finishing surges to close the gap. The bunched pricing among top outcomes underscores a competitive dynamic where small edges in remaining games or injury management could shift the leader.
