Javokhir Sindarov holds a clear edge in the 2026 World Chess Championship market due to his dominant, undefeated 10/14 performance that clinched the Candidates tournament in April 2026, propelling him into the top five live ratings while gaining over 30 points. The Uzbek grandmaster has maintained strong recent form, including rapid and blitz successes, positioning him as the higher-rated player entering the November-December match in Geneva. In contrast, defending champion Gukesh Dommaraju has endured a difficult 2026 campaign marked by multiple classical losses, significant rating erosion, and withdrawals from select events to prioritize preparation. Traders view Sindarov’s superior current trajectory and head-to-head momentum as decisive factors in this youngest-ever title matchup.
