Damon Heta enters this Australian Darts Masters first-round clash as the clear PDC-ranked favorite yet faces a tightly balanced matchup with Joe Comito after the latter's recent World Championship upset victory over him. Both players share Australian roots in a home-soil event, where Comito's strong regional form, consistent averaging near 90, and momentum from domestic titles offset Heta's superior tour experience and prior 6-0 head-to-head dominance from 2023. Recent results show Heta posting solid wins in New Zealand and Players Championship events, while Comito leverages local circuit success. Any shift in early leg averages, checkout efficiency, or nerves under home pressure could quickly alter the implied probability in this best-of-11 format.
