Cincinnati's Andrew Abbott delivered six scoreless innings in defeat, but the offense managed just four hits, underscoring early struggles amid a depleted rotation with Hunter Greene on the 60-day IL (elbow) and Nick Lodolo on the 15-day IL (finger). Boston counters without first baseman Triston Casas (10-day IL, knee) and pitchers Kutter Crawford and Tanner Houck, yet fields veteran Sonny Gray against Reds righty Brady Singer. Cool 48°F weather with low rain risk favors pitchers slightly in this interleague clash.
