This market will resolve according to the individual who is announced as the next head coach of the Men’s Basketball team at the University of North Carolina. Interim coaches will not qualify. If no new coach is named by November 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market is official information from the University of North Carolina; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Following Hubert Davis' firing three days after UNC's historic first-round NCAA Tournament collapse against VCU, the Tar Heels' premier coaching vacancy has sparked a wide-open search amid the coaching carousel, keeping trader consensus tightly bunched in the low-40s implied probabilities. Nate Oats and Jay Wright co-lead at 43.5%, buoyed by Oats' elite NIL-era recruiting at Alabama and Wright's unretired appeal as a two-time national champion, while Tommy Lloyd, Grant McCasland, Todd Golden, Mark Byington, and Scott Drew trail closely at 42.5% on their recent Sweet 16 runs, program rebuilds, and ACC familiarity. Absent interview leaks or commitments, the field's depth underscores UNC's high bar for Final Four contention and transfer portal dominance.
