The early weeks of the 2026-27 Scottish Premiership have left the market for most clean sheets tightly bunched because the 12-team field remains highly competitive on defensive metrics. Several sides, including St Mirren, Celtic, Dundee, Falkirk, Hearts and Motherwell, posted clean sheets in the opening fixtures, while promoted Falkirk and mid-table clubs like Dundee United and Kilmarnock showed improved organization under new management. Celtic and Rangers retain the strongest squads overall, yet both have undergone significant roster turnover that has yet to translate into a sustained defensive edge. With 33 matches still to play and no side posting a runaway record after the first two rounds, traders see realistic paths for multiple teams to finish atop the clean-sheet table depending on form, injuries and tactical adjustments.
