Borna Gojo (ATP No. 174) holds a significant ranking edge over Nicolas Mejia (No. 370) in their Morelia Challenger first-round clash on outdoor clay, where Gojo's powerful baseline game suits the surface amid high-altitude conditions that favor big hitters. Gojo advanced through qualifying with straight-set victories over lower-ranked foes this week, building momentum after mixed hard-court results, while Mejia earned direct entry buoyed by recent Colombian Challenger titles showcasing his clay endurance. No head-to-head exists, but Gojo's challenger experience edges out Mejia's upset potential; clear weather and no injury reports set up a straightforward matchup, though Mejia's defensive grinding could extend rallies.
