Hana Goda's thrilling 4-3 comeback victory over China's Jia Nan Yuan in the round of 16—sealing it 13-11 in the decider—has injected upset potential into this ITTF World Cup Macao 2026 women's singles quarterfinal, tightening trader consensus to a razor-thin 51% implied probability on world No. 1 Sun Yingsha. Despite Sun's unblemished head-to-head record (4-0, including narrow 3-1 triumphs at US Smash and Europe Smash 2025 where Goda stole early sets), the 18-year-old Egyptian's explosive recent form and aggressive right-hand attack have balanced the matchup. Sun's grueling path, with 4-2 and 4-3 wins over Kuai Man and Wang Yidi, hints at possible fatigue, while Goda's momentum could tip odds if she sustains pressure; Sun regains edge through superior consistency and experience in best-of-seven formats.
