Sijia Wei, the second seed and WTA-ranked player near 400, faces lower-ranked Yujin Kim (outside the top 800) in the round of 16 of the ITF W15 Tianjin 3 on hard courts. Wei arrives after a straight-sets win over Liuyan An in the prior round and brings stronger overall results from recent WTA and ITF events. Kim advanced with a victory over Yujin Ahn but has compiled a more limited professional record. Both players are Chinese competitors on familiar home soil, though Wei’s superior ranking, seeding, and experience create a significant edge in this matchup. No reported injuries or withdrawals alter the draw, and the hard surface favors consistent baseline play from both.
