Fabiano Caruana leads trader consensus at 32% implied probability for the 2026 FIDE Candidates crown, anchored by his world No. 2 Elo rating above 2800 and runner-up finish in the 2024 tournament, where his deep openings and endgame precision shone. Hikaru Nakamura's 20% share stems from consistent classical showings, bolstered by recent elite rapid events and stamina in long matches. Javokhir Sindarov at 16% surges on youth momentum, including his 2024 World Junior title and aggressive play exposing rivals' weaknesses. Praggnanandhaa R's 12.5% reflects India's Chess Olympiad gold and top-5 rating climb, while Anish Giri (9%), Wei Yi (7.5%), and lower seeds like Esipenko and Bluebaum lag behind fluctuating form and tougher qualification paths ahead.
