The 2026-27 Croatian HNL season remains in its opening phase after roughly eight matchdays, with multiple clubs posting comparable early defensive records that keep the clean-sheet leader market tightly bunched. Dinamo Zagreb, Hajduk Split, Osijek, and Varaždin each sit near the top of the table while conceding between 0.9 and 1.4 goals per game, and recent results such as Rijeka’s 3-0 derby win over Hajduk and Osijek’s 4-2 victory against Dinamo have not yet produced a sustained defensive separation. Historical patterns show these sides routinely rotate strong goalkeepers and organized backlines across a 36-match campaign, while mid-table teams like Rijeka and Varaždin have also recorded multiple shutouts in the opening weeks. With limited fixtures completed and no team establishing clear dominance in goals conceded or clean-sheet percentage, traders price the field near even odds, reflecting the realistic chance that any of several competitively matched defenses could finish with the most clean sheets once the full schedule and potential fixture congestion play out.
