Recent streaming data shows a tight race for the #2 spot on Spotify’s global weekly chart, with “Beauty and a Beat” by Justin Bieber featuring Nicki Minaj holding the highest implied probability at 40% amid a surge in legacy catalog plays. Malcolm Todd’s “Earrings” sits close behind at 38.5%, buoyed by strong U.S. chart gains despite earlier stream adjustments from irregular activity. Ariana Grande tracks including “petal” and “hate that i made you love me,” alongside Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai,” Steve Lacy’s “Oh Yeah?,” Tame Impala’s “Loser,” and Dominic Fike’s “Babydoll,” cluster in the mid-to-low 30s, reflecting fragmented listener preferences and ongoing weekly updates. Traders are monitoring daily stream velocity and any late-week promotional spikes as the chart locks for the August 21 period, where small differences in global plays could determine the outcome.
