Official National Weather Service forecasts for Houston on September 3 indicate a partly sunny day with a 40% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, which models suggest will develop amid high humidity and southeast flow, limiting peak heating. Recent NWS updates project highs near 91°F, consistent with the climatological September average of 91.4°F at Houston stations, though convective activity and cloud cover introduce downside risk to the maximum. This setup favors the market's leading 88–91°F bins, as traders incorporate the potential for rain-cooled air and reduced insolation over the urban heat island. New model runs and updated NWS briefings ahead of the diurnal heating cycle remain key variables for resolution.
