The A-League Men’s 2026-27 campaign opens amid pronounced squad parity after an active off-season transfer window. Newcastle Jets, Auckland FC, Melbourne Victory, Macarthur FC, Sydney FC, Melbourne City, Western Sydney Wanderers, Wellington Phoenix, Perth Glory, Central Coast Mariners, Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar have all undergone notable roster turnover, with key departures and arrivals redistributing talent and experience across the competition. Pre-season form and depth charts show no club establishing a clear edge in attack, defense or midfield cohesion, while the league’s typical mid-table volatility and home/away splits further compress expectations for regular-season positioning. Traders therefore price the runner-up outcome as broadly contested, reflecting the absence of a standout favorite this early.
