Byron Donalds secured the Republican nomination for Florida governor in the August 18, 2026 primary with approximately 47.8% of the vote, outpacing Jay Collins and a crowded field of other candidates. Trump’s endorsement and substantial fundraising advantage—nearly $100 million—positioned Donalds as the clear front-runner in pre-primary polling, which consistently showed him in the mid-to-high 40s. DeSantis’s lieutenant governor, Jay Collins, finished a distant second near 25%. With results now projected and called by major outlets, market resolution on Donalds’ final certified vote share hinges on official tallies from the Florida Division of Elections and any remaining absentee or provisional ballot processing.
