Big Tobacco’s major players have already secured dominant nicotine pouch positions through past deals, with Philip Morris International owning Zyn after its 2022 Swedish Match purchase, Altria controlling on! via Helix, and British American Tobacco expanding Velo through organic growth and the earlier Dryft integration. Recent momentum centers on internal innovation and regulatory wins rather than new acquisitions, including FDA clearances for higher-strength variants, production expansions, and a 2025 KT&G-Altria joint venture to buy Another Snus Factory and its LOOP brand. Independent labels such as ALP face pressure from scaled distribution and marketing by the majors amid a fast-growing category, yet any future deals would hinge on regulatory approvals, market share gains, and strategic fit for the established portfolios.
