Ranked around No. 350 with a career high of 83, the 23-year-old Bai boasts stronger recent form, including a second-round run at Australian Open 2026 where she upset Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova before falling to Aryna Sabalenka. Lu, 36 and hovering near No. 425 (career high 162), has scraped qualifier wins at lower ITF levels but lacks Bai's power and momentum. No injuries reported; Bai's hard-court affinity and youth edge shape the closely watched implied probabilities.
