Third-seeded Alexander Zverev enters as a heavy clay-court favorite against 19-year-old Brazilian breakthrough star Joao Fonseca in the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters quarterfinals, leveraging his strong Monte Carlo history—including two prior semifinals—and recent resilience, rallying from 0-4 down in the third set against Cristian Garin before straight-sets win over Zizou Bergs. Fonseca, on his Masters 1000 debut, notched his maiden last-eight berth by edging Arthur Rinderknech and upsetting Matteo Berrettini, showcasing explosive forehand power and 94% first-serve points won in key sets, though his backhand vulnerabilities could be exploited in extended rallies on the slow clay. No head-to-head prior; Zverev's superior rankings, surface stats (top-five clay win percentage), and big-match experience drive trader consensus toward the veteran, tempered by Fonseca's momentum and upset potential in this first clash.
