In the Barcelona Open qualifiers on clay, No. 108 Jesper de Jong faces No. 102 Benjamin Bonzi in a best-of-three-sets matchup scheduled for April 11, with no prior head-to-head encounters. Both arrive off recent clay action at Monte Carlo Masters qualifiers, where de Jong fell to Cristian Garin after earlier wins, and Bonzi lost to Roberto Bautista Agut following a victory over Valentin Royer, providing fresh surface rhythm amid the European clay swing. De Jong holds a stronger career ATP clay record at 11-10 (52%), edging Bonzi's 7-14 (33%), though Bonzi's experience as a Frenchman could factor on the slower courts. Mild 17°C weather favors play, with no reported injuries; trader consensus reflects a tight contest given comparable rankings and form.
