Johan Nikles holds a slight ranking edge at No. 477 over Valerio Aboian at No. 511 entering this Campinas Challenger first-round clay matchup, with trader consensus reflecting their comparable South American clay form. Both exited early last week in Sao Leopoldo: Nikles advanced to the second round before a 7-5, 6-4 loss to Murkel Dellien Velasco, while Aboian fell in the opener 6-7(5), 6-1, 6-3 to Gonzalo Villanueva. No head-to-head history exists; Nikles' experience at 29 could counter Aboian's lefty baseline aggression at 23, amid neutral weather and no reported injuries, setting up a tightly contested opener with upset potential.
