In the Mexico City Challenger second round on high-altitude clay, seventh seed Luka Pavlovic (#200 ATP), last year's runner-up, holds a clear ranking and experience edge over qualifier Aidan Mayo (#674 ATP) in their first head-to-head. Pavlovic, a 6-5 French right-hander with two-handed backhand, advanced past Facundo Mena, building on a 30-26 record over the past year amid steady Challenger results. Mayo, 22-year-old American with one-handed backhand, notched an upset over Dan Martin (#378) in three sets after quarterfinals at an M25 in Las Vegas, signaling rebound potential despite his ranking slide from a 269 peak. Altitude favors aggressive baseline play, with no reported injuries; Pavlovic's power and tournament history shape trader consensus toward him as favorite.
