Fifth-seeded Clement Tabur (#196) holds a slight edge over compatriot Sascha Gueymard-Wayenburg (#267) in their first-round Tallahassee Challenger clash on red clay, driven by his superior ranking, career clay record (179-115), and 12-10 season mark compared to Gueymard's 8-9. Both Frenchmen exited early last week at the Sarasota Challenger on clay—Tabur losing 7-5, 7-6(4) to Daniel Dutra da Silva in the 1R, Gueymard-Wayenburg falling 6-4, 6-3 to Duje Ajdukovic—highlighting modest recent momentum amid travel fatigue. Head-to-head stands 1-1 with no prior clay meetings; Gueymard's 2022 indoor hard win underscores stylistic familiarity. No injuries reported, with outdoor conditions and draw position favoring a competitive baseline battle.
