Jannik Sinner advanced to the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters semifinals with a straight-sets 6-3, 6-4 victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime yesterday, extending his strong early clay form despite a prior injury layoff, while world No. 3 Alexander Zverev mounted an epic comeback against Cristian Garin in the quarters, showcasing his baseline resilience on the slow Monte Carlo clay. Sinner leads their head-to-head 8-4 overall but splits 1-1 on clay, including Zverev's 2022 quarterfinal win here in three tight sets. As No. 2 seed chasing a return to world No. 1, Sinner's superior recent hard-court dominance tempers slightly on clay, where Zverev's Masters 1000 pedigree and home-like grinding style pose upset potential amid variable outdoor conditions.
