Shinji Hazawa enters this ITF M15 Tokyo hard-court encounter as the clear favorite over 20-year-old Yuto Oki, reflecting his higher ATP ranking near the 350-700 range and career-high singles mark of 501 compared to Oki’s current position around 1022. The 27-year-old Hazawa brings greater professional experience and a stronger recent record on the ITF circuit, while the younger Oki, who turned pro recently with limited prize money earned, seeks to build momentum in his home country. Surface familiarity and the indoor/outdoor hard-court conditions favor both players equally, but Hazawa’s edge in consistency and head-to-head history positions him as the consensus leader in trader pricing. No significant injuries or withdrawals have altered the field.
