Surging demand—exceeding Apple's 5-6 million unit forecast—has strained supplies of repurposed iPhone rejects from TSMC's sold-out 3nm line, prompting rush orders and stock delays as of early April, yet no official halt signals commitment to the entry-level segment amid competitive pressure from Chromebooks. Upcoming catalysts include Q2 earnings disclosures on supply resolutions and potential accelerated MacBook Neo 2 rollout with A19 Pro silicon, reinforcing sustained availability despite margin challenges.
