Alina Korneeva, seeded No. 8 at WTA rank 122, holds the edge in experience with a WTA 125 title in Oeiras this year and a straight-sets Round of 32 win over Maria Garcia Cid on clay here, though she retired injured in her Round of 16 against Lina Gjorcheska yesterday. Lisa Pigato, ranked 189, counters with surging momentum, upsetting fourth seed Darja Semenistaja and Laura Samson in three-set comebacks over the past two days after clinching the W35 San Gregorio clay title last week—her 9-1 record in the last 10 matches. No head-to-head exists in this potential quarterfinal matchup on high-altitude clay, where Pigato's resilience meets Korneeva's power; trader consensus reflects Pigato's hot streak amid Korneeva's withdrawal uncertainty.
