In the ATP Challenger Barletta on clay, fifth seed Vitaliy Sachko (world No. 169) entered the Round of 32 as the clear favorite over qualifier Francesco Forti (No. 514), leveraging his higher ranking and 3-1 clay record in 2026 despite a 4-7 overall start. Forti, an Italian playing at home, rode strong recent form with a 9-2 clay mark this year—including Futures titles and qualifying wins over Cezar Cretu (6-3, 7-5) and Lorenzo Carboni (6-1, 6-3)—to challenge as a live underdog in their first head-to-head. No injuries reported; trader consensus reflected Sachko's experience edge amid Forti's momentum and crowd support on outdoor red clay. Tournament advances to Round of 16 with Sachko facing Daniil Glinka next.
