Third-seeded Alex de Minaur enters the Barcelona Open round of 16 on outdoor clay as trader consensus favorite against qualifier Hamad Medjedovic, driven by his No. 7 ATP ranking, 1-0 head-to-head edge from a four-set Australian Open win earlier this year, and fresher condition after a straight-sets 7-6(7), 6-4 defeat of Sebastian Ofner on Tuesday. Medjedovic impressed with a gritty 7-5, 6-4 comeback over Marco Trungelliti in the first round, capping qualifiers versus Vilius Gaubas and Quentin Halys, but his 5+ hours on court risks fatigue against de Minaur's break-proof serving. Medjedovic's 8-1 clay mark this year adds upset intrigue, though de Minaur's experience tempers it.
