Viktoriya Tomova enters as the clear favorite in this Porsche Tennis Grand Prix qualifying first-round matchup on indoor clay, holding a WTA ranking around No. 155 compared to Amandine Hesse's No. 416, plus a 1-0 head-to-head edge from their 2021 indoor hard encounter. Tomova arrives with mixed recent clay form, reaching the Charleston second round last week by defeating Jennifer Brady before falling to Anna Kalinskaya, building a 7-8 record this year. Hesse has struggled lately, dropping early exits in ITF events like Calvi and Nantes with a 4-3 YTD mark, lacking momentum on the surface. No reported injuries affect either player, leaving stylistic matchup and serving consistency as key deciders for advancement.
