The 2026 Chinese Super League season remains tightly contested for runner-up honors behind frontrunner Chengdu Rongcheng, with widespread point deductions from prior corruption cases compressing the table and keeping multiple sides within striking distance after roughly 22 matchdays. Recent results have seen promoted sides such as Chongqing Tonglianglong, Yunnan Yukun, and Dalian Yingbo mix strong attacking outputs with defensive vulnerabilities, while established clubs like Beijing Guoan, Shandong Taishan, and Qingdao West Coast show fluctuating form amid the league’s foreign-player salary cap and fixture congestion. This parity, combined with the long remaining schedule through November and variable home/away splits, sustains broad trader consensus that several teams retain realistic paths to second place.
