If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of Japan J. League for the 2026-27 season per the rules of Japan J. League (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No". If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically. If this event is cancelled, postponed after July 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be official information from the Japan J. League; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The early stages of the newly formatted 2026–27 J1 League season, which shifted to an August-to-June calendar with a winter break, have created widespread uncertainty around the runner-up race. Defending 2025 champions Kashima Antlers enter alongside established sides such as Vissel Kobe, Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Yokohama F. Marinos, and Kawasaki Frontale, while promoted clubs including JEF United Chiba, V-Varen Nagasaki, and Fagiano Okayama add fresh depth. Recent form from the intervening Hundred Year Vision League tournament, squad reinforcements, and the absence of any dominant early leader have kept implied probabilities tightly clustered, reflecting the league’s historical parity and the challenges of adapting to the revised schedule.
