This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter award for the 2026 MLB Season. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by MLB rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLB season is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Baseball; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Brent Rooker commands a narrow trader consensus lead for the Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter Award after his 2024 breakout with 39 homers and .927 OPS, aligning with FanGraphs' projection of the Athletics as a top DH unit. Shohei Ohtani, recent multi-time winner now balancing pitching duties with DH at-bats for the Dodgers, Kerry Carpenter of the Tigers, and a deep field including Jarren Duran, Joc Pederson, Starling Marte, and Marcell Ozuna share virtually identical implied probabilities around 40%, per preseason positional rankings from ESPN and others. Just days into the 2026 season post-opening weekend, minuscule sample sizes and absence of injuries or dominant stretches preserve this bunched dynamic, underscoring the award's reliance on sustained OPS leadership over 162 games amid widespread slugging talent.
