The resolution source for this market will be official information from FIFA; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage results have kept the furthest-advancing host nation market tight, with the United States, Mexico, and Canada all positioned as plausible contenders based on early results and draw context. The U.S. and Mexico opened with convincing wins that boosted implied probabilities to the mid-50s and mid-30s respectively on Polymarket, while Canada's draw left it as a longer shot. Pre-tournament FIFA rankings placed the U.S. and Mexico near each other in the global top 20 and Canada lower, but all three received favorable group placements as top seeds in an expanded 48-team field. This setup, combined with similar overall squad strength and the potential for any host to reach the knockout rounds or beyond, sustains competitive dynamics among the leaders rather than allowing one to pull away decisively.
